Two thousand years ago Jesus Christ was wandering through burnt by the sun soil of Samaria, Galilee and Judea. In 2004 the same trails were visited by two artists: creator of word and creator of image. Poet and photographer – Marek Skwarnicki and Adam Bujak. They wandered through Nazareth, Bethlehem, Jerusalem, Kafrarnaum, they reached the top of the Olive Mount and Zion and ranged the banks of Galilean Lake. Those and many other signs of life and teaching of Jesus Christ influenced the trail of their pilgrimage. The album, significantly called, “Secrets of the Holy Land” became a crop of those peregrinations. It’s an artistic relation where the word entwines with the image, and the image with a prayer. Among local priests and pilgrims from all over the world we can even meet here pope John Paul II.
One can ask: are there still any undiscovered secrets in this world? Are there any places that we can be closer to God in. Two eminent artists answer those questions. “Secrets of the Holy Land” is a book, where reader can discover by himself: beauty of severe nature and ancient monuments and magic of the holy places.
